Windows Terminal Services is the old name for Remote Desktop Services (RDS). RDS is still being used by Microsoft and is a popular way to access remote computers. RDS allows users to connect to a remote computer and use it as if they were sitting in front of it. RDS is often used to provide remote access to applications and data that are hosted on a central server.
In 2008, Microsoft renamed Terminal Services to Remote Desktop Services to reflect the fact that it is a more comprehensive solution that includes support for remote applications, remote desktops, and remote administration.
RDS is a powerful tool that can be used to improve productivity and efficiency in a variety of ways. For example, RDS can be used to:
- Provide remote access to applications and data that are hosted on a central server
- Allow employees to work from home or other remote locations
- Provide technical support to remote users
- Deliver training and education to remote students
If you are looking for a way to provide remote access to your applications and data, then RDS is a good option to consider.
